Hello, and welcome to the Middle Tennessee History Coalition Website. History has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. As a little boy I marveled at stories of valor told by my great uncles that had fought in World War 2. My interested expanded as my mom told me about distant relatives that fought on both sides during the Civil War.... As an adult I discovered that I could trace my ancestry all the way back to the earliest days of Colonial America. I spent most of my adult life serving in the United Stated Army where I got a lesson on how unique and wonderful America is. I met my beautiful wife Kim in 2011 and we married and settled in East Nashville shortly thereafter. I have always been fascinated with the everyday lives that people lived; how did they earn a living, make ends meet, and provide for their families. About five years ago I discovered Historic Mansker’s Station in Goodlettsville, TN. I immediately started volunteering and found that not only did it scratch my itch for history; I met some amazing people that have become steadfast friends. I learned how enjoyable it is to share my passion and found that many local historic sites desperately need help in order to keep the doors open and offer quality programming. More
